Volunteers

New! The MS Ambassador Program - a direct result of an anonymous grant given in 2007 to the MS Society has begun targeting volunteers from across the province to become MS Ambassadors. The purpose of the program is to bring MS to the forefront, to create awareness and to make an “invisible” disease “visible.”

The volunteers of the Calgary Chapter take part in a tremendous variety of frontline and behind-the-scenes activities.

Every volunteer makes an enormous difference by contributing their time, energy and skills. Amazing things can be accomplished by assisting us in reaching our goal of finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

More than ever, we need your help!

Why I volunteer with the MS Society - Li Zahnd

My friend Johanna lived with MS for many years. The last two years of her progressive MS were difficult but she lived with dignity and shared her love with family and friends. I learned so much and I continue to treasure the time I was able to spend with her as a friend and caregiver.

After her death in November 2001, I decided to volunteer for the MS Society in her memory. I joined a wonderful group of participants and instructors at the Monday Yoga class. And the “learning” continues: Evert Monday morning I receive “teachings” that are like gifts. Gifts of courage, will, humour, grace, dignity and hope, all wrapped up in real “humanness”, a “humanness” that I share. I love Monday mornings at MS Yoga. Thank you
