15-12 Weeks & Counting (March)

  • Register yourself.
  • Set team goals (number of team members and fundraising goal).
  • Make a list of possible team members and invite them to join.

 

12-10 Weeks & Counting (March/April)

  • Recruit team members (March 20th kicks off TeamMS Recruitment Week).
  • Have a meeting to form a TeamMS committee and choose a co-captain.
  • Have a fundraiser to boost your team’s fundraising total.
  • Ask your company to sponsor your team, make a donation or provide team
  • uniforms with the company logo!

 

8-6 weeks (April/May)

  • Recruit more team members.
  • Find out if your company has a matching gifts program.
  • Use the company email or newsletter for updates and post them in the
  • break room and restrooms.
  • Use the MS Society on-line registration system to check your team’s progress.

 

6-4 Weeks (May)

  • Set up a “thermometer” showing your fundraising goal and the pledges raised to
  • date.
  • Have another fundraising event.
  • Send a team email!

 

2 Weeks (May/June)

  • Have a Team Pep Rally—update team members, congratulations to top
  • fundraisers, decide where to meet on event day.
  • Collect pledges before the event and turn them in to the MS Society office. Or
  • even better, ask the MS Society TeamMS Coordinator to be there to collect the
  • pledges!

 

Event Day

  • Wear your team uniform.
  • Stop by the TeamMS tent for a team photo.

    Show team spirit!

     

After the Event

  • Congratulate and thank team members for their hard work.
  • Collect any additional pledges.
  • Send thank-you letters to major donors.
  • Remember the deadline for prize eligibility is June 30, 2006.
