Helps MS Events Break Records! What's the secret to a great team? In 2005 the MS Society had the privilege of working with amazing businesses who demonstrated exactly what it takes to be a great team. Companies and friend and families rallied together in the Enerflex Super Cities WALK for MS and RONA MS Bike Tour while all working towards the same goal…finding a cure for MS. Team Petland - close to $9,000 raised with an in-store campaign which not only made money, it helped raise awareness of the Enerflex Super Cities WALK for MS. Team BP Energy and Team Thunder Energy - both companies raise over $30,000 while participating in the RONA MS Bike Tour. Oil and gas companies in our city are showing us the money! Team Global TV – raises over $4,000 for the WALK and promotes both events consistently throughout our campaign season. Media coverage = priceless! Team Access Labs a.k.a Bunsen Hondeydews – brought in over $10,000 in their first year of riding the RONA MS Bike Tour. Not only did they raise funds, they won our hearts and took home the Best Team Spirit Award. Team Enerflex for MS – They did it again! Their employees rallied behind the campaign and raised a whopping $25,000 in 2005 making them top fundraising WALK team yet again and sending a strong message to the corporate community about the camaraderie and teamwork as a company. Saving the best for last…Team Sobey’s/IGA - reached the ultimate goal of being the highest fundraising team in Canada for a second year in a row by raising $120,000! The MS Society, Calgary Chapter is extremely proud of the relationship we have built with the Sobey’s/IGA stores throughout southern Alberta and can not thank them enough for their commitment in the fight against multiple sclerosis. Thank-you to all the teams who participated in the MS Society events! The above teams are only a few examples of the outstanding support that we receive from teams and individuals in our key events. Not only do they raise a significant amount of money for the society, they also bring enthusiasm, commitment and strength to our events. Their work towards the cause and cure for MS is truly inspirational! The Benefits of TeamMS It promotes company unity, corporate pride and team spirit. Employees will learn to work together as they fundraise leading up to the event. They will learn to set goals, develop creative ways to achieve them, and put their ideas into action for the event. It provides employees with a fun, social outing at little or no cost. Why have a company picnic? When instead, have your staff invite their family and friends to participate in a worthwhile event! It lets the community know that you support an important cause. Your marketing department will thank you for the additional exposure the company will receive. It creates a health conscious work environment. It’s more fun at the event when you have a group of teammates to support and encourage each other along the way. Challenge one other, enjoy the scenery and rest stops, and make lots of noise as your team triumphantly crosses the finish line! As a Team Captain, you are demonstrating leadership skills in your organization. And, most of all, it is rewarding to know that you are taking action and truly changing lives!! TeamMS will unite your company, family and friends while helping fund a cure for MS.
