Spring 2008 Legacy Seminar Series Your Will is a powerful tool. A well-worded will is one of the most important documents you will sign in your lifetime. You may feel that because your estate is “just a simple one” you don’t need a will. However, you may not be aware of the details of succession (what will happen to your assets upon death) and don’t know how the government will intrude upon the interests of your heirs if you pass away without leaving a Will. LEAVE A LEGACY™ is holding a day of free public education seminars about Wills, estate planning and end-of-life issues. The sessions will be led by some of Calgary’s leading wills and estate lawyers. Wills, Estates and End-of-Life Issues
Please see the flyer for more information! In addition to learning why you should have a will and the things to consider when writing your will, you will learn how your will can be used to help ensure your life’s work continues through the charities that are important to you. You will discover how easy—and satisfying—planning your legacy gifts can be. You will also have a chance to view displays by several local charities and legal and financial advisors. The Legacy Seminar Series is hosted by LEAVE A LEGACY ™ and is a free public service event. LEAVE A LEGACY™ is a community-based awareness campaign to encourage people to provide for the charities they love when arranging their financial and estate plans. Even though there is no charge and you are free to attend whichever and as many sessions you like, it will be very useful for the organizers to have some idea how many people to expect. Please call the MS Society at 250-7090 no later than Tuesday, March 25 to let us know which sessions you will be attending. Remember, there is no charge, so feel free to attend as many sessions as you wish and to invite any family members or friends you think might also be interested. Light refreshments will be served, and there is a cafeteria on site. We hope to see you there!
